9/11/00 Portland, OR. Jim once again is the subject of a news story. Located on the front page of the Oregonian's Tech NW section, Jim's site finally received the type of press it deserves, good press. The article is available online at Oregon Live
5/15/00 Portland, OR. A boy who attends a religious school, here in Portland was given an assignment by his teacher to present a religious concept of his own choosing on May 24, 2000. This boy found interesting the ideas of Humanity School of Understanding, founded by the famous and infamous Jim Spagg, so he got permission from the class teacher to have Mr. Spagg come to the class and comment on his religious attitudes. Having gotten that, he then called upon Jim Spagg, who graciously agreed to speak to the class at 8:00 AM in the morning on that date.
The school faculty got word of the impending event, and went into a tizzy. Their solution to the event was to have the class teacher call Jim Spagg, and un-invite him, which is what the teacher did. Freedom of religion?

He graciously has offered live studio time for the Humanity School of Understanding indefinitely! The show, unfortunately no band this time, started at 6pm sharp! 10/13/99 Portland, OR. Willamette Week Magazine>Buzz < Jim Spagg's live call-in cable show titled The Humanity School of Understanding is featured with the tag line "Clothed Caption" in the buzz section. The first paragraph states, "Sure, there were a few limp references to muff diving and jacking off, but it seems the man is mellowing." The 6th paragraph states; "But in a grand departure from his notoriously immodest past, Spagg manages to stay clad throughout his allotted hour. As he (arguably) waxes profound on the ecology, consumerism, peace on earth, acceptance of others and self-discovery."
